Trout's Holiday Apartments and Cottage History

1923 - Building of 'Prospect house' home for the Trout sisters after the Hallsands disaster.  
1933 - Extending of the building to form 'Prospect House Hotel'
1959 - Hotel Closed and the last Trout sister Edith remained living in the building as a recluse dying in 1976
1976 - Sold at auction 25 August  for £32500 by Robin & Alison Rose-Price who renovated the building and turned it into apartments.
1996 - Bought by the present owner Jill &, the late, Dennis Norman. Extensive work has continued ever since.

 

This Foundation Stone was laid in 1923 by the Trout Sisters who made the blocks from beach shingle that made the main part of the building you see today.
